London-based game developer Gaming Realms hopes to launch their unique bingo/slot Slingo games at West Virginia online casinos over the next few months. The company’s Slingo games are a cross between bingo and slot play.

The company mentioned the West Virginia launch in a pre-close trading update for 2023. In their update, Gaming Realms officials were pleased to report they expect to report fiscal year 2023 revenue of £23 million ($29 million) and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization of not less than £10.0 million ($12.6 million), up 23% and 28% respectively year-on-year. The company said the strong performance has been predominantly driven by content licensing, with growth across all major markets.

Gaming Realms Realizes Growth in 2024

During 2023, Gaming Realms went live with a further 44 partners across all its markets. In terms of geographic expansion, the company was pleased to obtain licenses to supply real money casino games into West Virginia’s iGaming market, the group’s seventh license in North America, as well as Greece.

“The company expects to launch in both these markets in the coming months,” officials said in a press release. With the company’s growing access to US online casinos, U.S. players in West Virginia will see a wide selection of new Slingo games added to their favorite online casinos.

What is Slingo?

To win in a Slingo game, players must cover individual numbers on a bingo card as they appear after each spin. The numbers randomly appear on a set of slot machine reels. Hit a WILD symbol and you get to choose which number to cover and complete a line on the bingo card.

Some fan favorites include Slingo Deadliest Catch, Slingo Shark Week, and Slingo Deal Or No Deal which have been released to both critical and commercial success.

New Slingo Games

Continuing the company’s association with high-profile entertainment brands, in the fourth quarter of 2023, Gaming Realms launched Slingo Space Invaders and Tetris Slingo, collaborating with two of the most iconic game brands of their generations.

Tetris Slingo

Gaming Realms signed a brand licensing agreement in January 2023 with The Tetris Company, Inc., a deal that launched the introduction of a Slingo version of the iconic Tetris game. Tetris, a puzzle video game, has enjoyed huge global appeal since it was first launched in the 1980s.
The online Slingo Tetris version launched in the latter half of 2023 on social and real-money platforms.

The classic elements from Tetris are combined with Gaming Realms’ Slingo concept, where each spin on a slot reel marks numbers off a 5×5 grid. If players match five numbers in a line, they are awarded a ‘Slingo,’ and progress up an incrementally increasing pay ladder.

Slingo Space Invaders

Continuing with a vintage video game theme, Gaming Realms signed a licensing agreement with Taito Corp. in February 2023 to create a real-money Slingo Space Invaders game. Taito is Japan’s internationally renowned video games and arcade company.

Taito developed and released Space Invaders in 1978, one of the most influential video games of all time. The signed agreement between Gaming Realms and Taito led to the Slingo game format joining Space Invaders’ iconic pixelated invader characters. Space Invaders celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2023.

Slingo Space Invaders, and other Slingo titles, are already online in other U.S. states at the likes of BetMGM Casino and Golden Nugget Casino.

Slot players on West Virginia online casinos will soon be able to Slingo, and bingo, their way to some big jackpots.
